PM to attend meeting of CARICOM Heads

PHILIPSBURG--Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams has accepted an invitation to attend the upcoming Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Conference of Heads of Government. She has informed CARICOM Conference Chairman Grenada Prime Minister of Tillman Thomas that she will be attending the meeting.

Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit had recommended to Thomas that an invitation should be extended to St. Maarten as it has become a country within the Dutch Kingdom.

Wescot-Williams said in a press release that she was looking forward to the meeting and the opportunity to look at the prospects it offered to forge future relations across national and regional borders.

Prime Minister Skerrit is expected to arrive on St. Maarten for official business Friday evening and will be met by Wescot-Williams at the airport.
