Several wounded in anti-regime protests in Sudan

Sudanese policemen backed by pro-government students clashed with hundreds of youth activists in Khartoum on Monday, beating them with sticks and wounding several, AFP reported. Supporters of the Facebook group Youth for Change gathered at the main campus of Khartoum university, before holding a peaceful anti-regime rally. Some 300 people participated in the protest, the report said.

They were confronted by students loyal to Sudan's ruling National Congress Party and by police, who attacked them with sticks, injuring at least two of them.
