85 families evacuated from Matale

Eighty -five�families have been evacuated from Matale?s landslide prone areas on the advice of the Disaster Management Centre and they are now living with relatives.� The state is to find alternative accommodation for these displaced people. A total of 304,163 families throughout the island are affected by the flood situation.There are 703 IDP camps set up to accommodate the refugees. The total number of deaths has now reached 14, while 9 are injured and two are missing. 2492 houses have been fully damaged.��
