Also winning the sashes for Best Swim Wear, Best Question and Answer, and Miss Photogenic, Trotman accumulated a total of 1,177 points, six more than first runner-up contestant number eight Davinia Brooks (1,171). Brooks also won the sashes for Miss Popularity, Best Carnival Costume and Evening Wear.
Brooks called her costume "Wing Warrior of Salt," as it embodied tools with which she would armour herself to become a "warrior princess" against the island's increased crime. Shades of aqua, lime green and splashes of fluorescent orange and yellow describe her body-fitted winning evening gown.
The competition's second runner-up, contestant number seven Shanay Andrews (1,054 points), won the Best Talent sash with her acrobatic performance that had many in the crowd gasping, before she safely spiralled down from the stage's ceiling on thick strings of cloth. Her presentation was a first ever for St. Maarten's Carnival.
Third runner-up out of the nine contestants was contestant number two Glenicia Mitchell.
The ladies had already competed for the titles of Best Speech and Best Culture Wear prior to Tuesday night's show. Contestant number three Luduska Dongo had won Best Speech, while Pageant Queen Trotman had won Best Culture Wear.
A mix of young people and adults come out in support of the combined show, which rounded off minutes to 3:00am Wednesday. However, youngsters dominated the evening as they cheered their peers on in the pageant and Youth Extravaganza.
The Youth Extravaganza included performances by artistes such as Shabba Jimbay Drum Group, rappers Da Key and the Lock Down Crew, singer David Brooks, dancers Krump Soljahs, Platinum Boyz, Toys R Uzz, Anonymous, Tha Hot Shot, headliners Red Eye Crew and 4M Band.
