? One person was taken into custody after he is alleged to have killed an elephant that had entered his chena at night earlier this week. According to police the suspect-a local farmer is alleged to have used a high-powered shot gun to bring down the jumbo at the village of Heniyagala in the Amparai district. The dead elephant was discovered by fellow-villagers who in turn informed the police and the Wild Life Department.
