A spokesperson for the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) said the organisation had received several election related complaints against ruling party candidates for the upcoming local govenerment polls next week.
Keerthi Tennakoon of CaFFE told Times Online a short while agao that the UPFA candidates were using vehicle fleets while campaigning where candidates would travel in a parade. He this was against the election law.
He said more than 50 persons were arrested by the Police for using vehicle fleets mainly in Hambanthota, Anuradhapura, Matale, Galle, Kollonnawa and Badulla
