Fonseka's appeal dismissed by Court of Appeal

The Court of Appeal yesterday (Dec 16) dismissed the appeal filed against the second Court Martial judgment on former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka under which he was sentenced to 30 months.

Heavy security had  been deployed around the Courts complex in Hulftsdorp, Colombo 12 ahead of the ruling.

 Earlier in the day supporters of both, the government and Fonseka turned up while the STF, Police and the army have been deployed around the Courts.
