PHILIPSBURG--Ekta Thawani was the recipient of this year's St. Maarten Youth Council Association SMOYA Pursuit of Excellence Award.
Thawani received the highest award during the annual SMOYA Awards at Carl's Unique Inn on Saturday November 12. Recipients of SMOYA Stellar Performance Awards were Soniya Bag, Jacqueline Constanzo, Louis van den Eijnden, Aldair Petronilia and Ece Unal.
Other first form or seventh grade recipients of SMOYA Awards were Erica Johnson, Kimberly Ponlino, Daniel Persaud, Ruthlene Baptiste, Veerle Bok, Clifford Fran�ois, Emile van de Eijnden, Navin Premkumar, Harsha Parchani, Jamal Ireland and Sandra Cetoute.
The second form or eighth grade recipients were Soniya Bag, Ruhan J. Bora, Jose Ignacio Olca Gonzalez, Kevin Arness, Victor Boonstra, Ketiska Hodge, Faricka Merrick, Janice Forbes, Faith Constant and Cindy Brandy.
The third form or ninth grade recipients were Lavesh Mirpuri, Jacqueline Constanzo, Travis Nicasia, Louis van de Eijnden, Sophia Brans, Randall Brison, Tayeusa Nisbet, Aldair Petronilia, Weslyn Vlaun, Oscar Coffie, Jean Guirand and Shernel Neale.
Form four or 10th grade recipients were Ece Unal, Kirstin de Falco, Ginonne Severinn, Renee Drost, Joris Verschueren, Wesley Kemper, Celine Verheij, Hadie Davis, Rehema Fleming and Linedia Masson.
The form five or 11th grade recipients were Paayal Jay Lalchandani, Anmol Mirpuri, Daniel Andrews, Clement Dutter, Kiki van Veen, Sabrina Carty and Falone Laventure.
