Parliament holds special session for Van Delden

PHILIPSBURG--A special session of Parliament to remember the late former Lt. Governor of joint administration of St. Maarten St. Eustatius and Saba Reinier Oswald van Delden, will be held from 10:00am today, Thursday, in Dr. Claude Wathey Legislative Hall in the Government Administration Building.

Announcing the session on Wednesday, President of Parliament Gracita Arrindell also expressed condolences to the Van Delden family.

"Former Lt. Governor Van Delden will be remembered for his role as a dedicated public servant. We [Members of Parliament] wish the family and friends strength during this difficult period. May his soul rest in peace," Arrindell said.

A condolence book has been opened for the public in the Government Administration Building's foyer. The book will be closed at 9:45am today.
