Carlos Somersall survives serious head-on collision

ST. PETERS--Carlos Somersall remains in a coma, but in stable condition, after St. Maarten Medical Center ordered his transport to "Centro de Salud," a hospital in the Dominican Republic, where he is currently receiving treatment from a number of specialists.

Somersall, 33, was one of four people injured in a high-speed collision in St. Peters early Saturday morning.

Somersall's father confirmed that his son remained in stable condition and that a number of specialists, including a cousin of the battered accident victim, were taking "excellent care" of him.

The father also said Somersall was recovering steadily, but had yet to regain consciousness, and that doctors say he should be awake by the end of the week.
