Two unidentified men got away with Rs. 1.7 million from a petrol shed employee heading to deposit the collection at a bank in Puttalam today afternoon, Police said.
However, Police said that the two men had attempted to get away with the entire collection of Rs. 4.7 million which was being taken to be deposited,� but failed.
Police said they had dropped Rs. Three million which was in a second bag.
“The men panicked and got away with what they had in the hand, not knowing they had dropped part of the money”, a police officer said.
