Lightning warning as more rain set to hit country

The public was advised to take adequate precautions against lightning activity that is set to accompany strong thunder showers in most parts of the country and tonight, an official with the Department of Meteorology said a short while ago.

He said that heavy thunder showers would be concentrated largely in the Western Province and would spread to other areas as well during late night or the early hours of Saturday.

The wet weather pattern is a part of the inter-monsoon conditions that have set in the country, the official said.
