Govt. looking at other oil options

The Government is looking at other options in importing crude oil following US sanctions on Iran, Petroleum Minister Susuil Premajayantha said today.

He said crude purchases from Iran will continue for the next six months under the grace period given under the sanctions and would later switch on to other suppliers.

He refused to name the suppliers owing to the controversial nature of the developing situation but added that talks for purchases had already begun.
