63 Pelican workers take up SBRMC employment offer

~ Opportunity expires today~

PHILIPSBURG--According to attorney representing the Simpson Bay Resort Management Company (SBRMC) Jairo Bloem, 63 persons have taken up the opportunity offered by the resort and registered for employment.

SBRMC, last week, made an exclusive employment offer to 91 of the former workers of the Pelican Resort Club and gave these persons one week to apply for a position. The one week period expires at 5:00pm today.

"From in total 91 persons to whom the employment offer was made, to this date 63 persons registered stating that they want employment," Bloem said. "All these persons will be contacted and offered an agreement. So far this has been concluded with 11 persons, all of whom signed employment agreements. In the coming days Human Resource will complete the assignment of attempting to conclude an employment agreement with the remaining persons," he added.

That leaves 28 persons who so far have not registered and/or indicted that they want to be employed with SBRMC. These persons still have an opportunity until 5:00pm today to indicate whether they want to be employed with SBRMC.
