~Themed: "A better future through a better education"~
PHILIPSBURG--The annual career and study fair for this year will be held at the Belair Community Centre on November 4, from 8:00am to 7:00pm.
The ultimate goal of this college and career fair is to give proper information and a better insight into tertiary education, college and university admission requirements, academic orientation, scholarship information, and financial aid, for one to make an informed decision for his/her future career, organisers said.
At the fair students and the public will also have the opportunity to meet with local businesses that will provide them with insight into their operations, career and internship possibilities.
The fair is being hosted by a committee consisting of representatives of the various secondary schools in St. Maarten and the University of St. Martin (USM) and is themed: "A better future through a better education"
"This year our annual Career and Study promises to be bigger and better than the previous years," organisers said. "We have the privilege of having Territory Educational institutes, Colleges and universities from St. Maarten, Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba, Grenada, Holland, Canada and the United States, totalling 25 Territorial Educational institutes, Colleges and universities.
The business sector both private and public will also be represented at the Fair.
This year banks and insurance companies will also be giving information, and offering their services on how to effectively save and finance a child's or children's future education. This segment is especially open to parents with young children, children in school and children preparing to study abroad.
Organisers are appealing to businesses that have not yet registered to do so as soon as possible. The deadline for registration has passed, but businesses that still wish to enter this year's fair still have the possibility to do so by Friday, October 28, 2011.
